And Just Like That... episode five: Carrie takes a bike accident to the bedroom

And Just Like That... was back again with twists and turns following Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte in season two, episode five on Thursday.

After watching her navigate grief, a return to the dating scene and a withdrawal, Carrie, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, gets back on the saddle after a chance accident introduces her to dashing app designer George.

Following an ill-fated attempt to meet men in a hotel bar with her fellow single pals Seema and Nya, she turns up the heat with George - however all is not as smooth as it seems when she realises he is in a relationship - of sorts.

Elsewhere, Miranda's opposing schedules with her partner Che throws their romance into disarray before an identity crisis pushes them to the edge.

And in Charlotte's weekly dramas, she navigates a modelling career for her nonbinary child Roc yet husband Harry pooh-poohs the idea - before attempting to infiltrate the shoot in a disguise, comprising his new brunette wig.

The show opens with Miranda's alarm going off at 5am and waking up Che Diaz (played by Sara Ramirez), who urges her to return to bed.

Miranda says: 'I can't. I have an early class. If I don't go home first and wake up Brady he'll be asleep all day. I'll be out in two minutes.'

As Miranda zips across town after heading into Hudson Street station, she maneuvers her way home with a pumpkin in hand to carve once she got inside.

After her son Brady comes into the kitchen, she says: 'Morning Pumpkin! I got our pumpkin! And I made pancakes', yet her kindness is rebuffed by Brady who insists she does not need to come from Che's every morning to wake him.

She replied: 'You know I like it and the two of you would starve if I didn't', before she asks Brady if he will help her with Halloween decorations.

Brady says: 'Isn't this house scary enough?'

Miranda then meets up with Carrie while heading to Charlotte's fancy dress fundraiser - although the duo opted not to wear fancy dress, something Charlotte told Carrie would cause Charlotte 'to kill them'.

Carrie - clad in a lamé pussybow blouse and pink blazer - protests: 'I am in fancy dress! I'm Helen Gurley Brown, founder and writer of Cosmopolitan Magazine.'

Miranda spills the beans to Carrie about her cross-city woes and how she is 'wrecked' from splitting her time between Che's and her own home.

Carrie replies: 'You did come in a costume - you came as a gigantic bummer'.

Seema, played by Sarita Choudhury, also opts against fancy dress and dazzles in a red gown, yet she reveals to the ladies that she is still causing confusion: 'If one more foodie asks me if I'm Padma Lakshmi I will file a class action lawsuit'.

Miranda, Seema and Carrie are joined by PVC-clad Dr Naya Wallace, played by Karen Pittman, whose split from her husband played out in heartbreaking detail.

She revealed to the ladies that she is searching for a new man after leaving Andre - and recently had a free trial on Hot Chocolate Singles.

Seema vows to take her to a 5* hotel bar as the best place to meet single men - to avoid 'deadbeats' and ensure the men they meet are rich.

As she asks Carrie if she'd like to join the fun, Miranda is shocked when she agrees, leading to Carrie stating: 'I'm a mouse on the outside but on the inside I'm a tiger and I have to get on with it - it's a quote from Helen Gurley Brown'.

Lisa, played by Nicole Ari Parker, takes to the dancefloor with Anthony, played by Mario Cantone, for a while dance-off before her husband Herbert, played by Christopher Jackson, arrives without a costume.

Following his reveal that he is running for City Controller, he tells Lisa the reason he did not wear a costume she rented as it would be bad publicity - before scolding her for her dance with Anthony as people would not know he was gay.

He insists the dance was not 'dignified' due to his career aspirations.

Harry and Charlotte continue trying to convince others of their costumes before Anthony runs to a man dressed as Spartacus who he claims to have been met him in the gym - however the confused Roman introduces his wife.

He then receives a menacing look.

Carrie and Miranda hit the dancefloor, where the latter marvels at the former's hotel plans, leading to her stating: 'If I want a man I can't sit at home and wait for him to come to me', in the wake of Mr Big's death in the previous season.

Following the party, Lisa is seen reading in bed when Herbert enters the room in an Admiral costume - which she deems 'bizarrely hot'.

She says: 'Before we start, Mr President, I know you're running for City Controller but you don't get to control me', he replies: 'A message from the council woman in the sheets has been received'.

While the duo originally voiced concern over the man being 'a creep', when Charlotte sees the business card she discovers the scout is from Ralph Lauren.

Harry insists the whole thing was 'a scam' by a man who made fake business cards, yet Charlotte protests: 'What's the harm in calling?'

Carrie, Nya and Seema's man-hunting hotel jaunt then kicks off, with Carrie revealing: 'Last time I went to a bar to meet a man, my phone folded'.

Nya revealed: 'Last time I went to a bar to meet a man was... never', as she revealed her husband Andre and her high school boyfriend were the sum total of her dating.

The women then start talking about how many 'd**ks' they had seen - with Nya saying two, Seema 'enough that she can not be shocked' and Carrie 'enough that she still can be shocked'.

Seema is then approached by a dashing gentleman at the bar, who brands her royalty in a slick chat-up line before revealing he represents Nettlefield gin.

Nya is the next to be approached, as a gentleman called Ian - who she claims is her 'chocolate single' - sidles over and offers to by her a drink.

The scenes then turn to Che's apartment where she is playing video games with friends while Miranda attempts to sleep next door at 3.30am.

While filling out forms, Carrie learns his name is George Campbell, he was born on 17th October 1968, lives on 245 East 29th, his emergency contact is his business partner Paul Bennett, who then Facetimes him.

Paul is raging over work and their need to sort an appdeck which is due in two days as they are 'do or die' due to running out of buyers.

George says he was involved in 'the opposite of a hit and run' and is summoned to be seen by a nurse before they bid farewell.

Harry comes home to Charlotte and Roc cooking, who reveal they have been doing research on the modelling - yet Harry stands by his concerns - even insisting he is envisioning Roc being kidnapped.

The excited duo however explain that the shoot is a progressive family setting, in which Roc will be wearing a polo shirt which Charlotte wore when she was a teen model.

Charlotte utters her delight and states that Roc plans to plant trees in Israel with the money they make from the shoot.

Harry says: 'Even if it legit. It's exploitative, the next thing you know they'll be using her image in God knows what else' and despite his protestations they reveal that Charlotte will be taking them to the shoot.

Back to Carrie in the Urgent Care, she sits awaiting George's return while on the phone to Seema, saying: 'I don't know why they call it Urgent Care, it should be called I hope you have nothing else planned for the rest of the day'.

Carrie reveals the reason she is still at the facility is because she gave her number and is worried about being sued - but also feeling guilty.

Seema says: 'You're a pushover like me. I told pump gin guy that I'd see him again.. dating at this age, there's always something. We had 30 minutes of great foreplay, a bizarre intermission and B+ sex'.

George then leaves and is stunned that she waited before revealing it 'feels pretty good', and reveals his wrist is broken.

The nurse then reveals his card was declined, as a red-faced Carrie looked on.

Nya sits with Miranda and gushes over her 'amazing one-night stand' and subsequent all day sleep, which makes Miranda 'so jealous'.

Miranda elaborates: 'I'm jealous of the all-day sleep part. I'm early mornings, Che is late nights. I would only sleep there at the weekends and spend all day in bed if I had anywhere else to go.'

Nya then offers her spare room, given Miranda gave ex Steve their Brooklyn home and vowed to look for another place. She happily accepts.

In a bid for forgiveness once again, 'near assassin' Carrie heads to George's apartment - a vast and trendy loft - which he buzzes her in to.

She is wowed by the size and likens the area to an art gallery or air hanger.

Carrie brings lunch and offers help with her presentation, which he brands weird but says he will take her help. The duo then sit down to tuck in to the vast lunch she had brought which he marvels at and wonders when he last ate.

She candidly admits she was worried for his finances after his panicked call from the business partner and his declined call yet he clarifies, his card was blocked due to fraud and his call from Paul was due to the hard work they put in the app.

Carrie admits the home is 'pretty impressive', which he reveals is thanks to selling three apps and are hoping to make it four with the presentation.

While sitting close with his laptop between, the duo enjoy electrifying chemistry which leads to a kiss - yet the moment is interrupted by Paul toting dry-cleaning and stating: 'Dude hang a towel on the door if you have company'.

Carrie and George look sheepish before she is introduced to the business partner - who pointedly tells them that they were on a deadline.

With the moment ruined, Carrie heads home with a smile.

Che and Miranda are seen at dinner, where the former is revealing updates on her TV career, yet the latter is distracted by the heat of her food - which she reveals she ordered by means of ''waking herself up'.

Che reveals: 'They ask a load of randos they meet in Times Square to give feedback on my pilot. I guess it helps figure out how to market the show to 'Merica'.

Roc's shoot is then underway, as they walk into a bustling room with mum Charlotte, who professes she is 'so proud' although Roc insists: 'I haven't done anything yet'.

She is introduced to Bee, a stylist, who marvels that Charlotte is wearing head-to-toe vintage Ralph Lauren - much to Charlotte's utter delight.

Ahead of her big move, Carrie and Miranda then head to a vintage shop to pick up items for the 'very small' room, following Miranda's insistence she is ok with the changes and calls her and Nya Laverne & Shirley.

After Carrie queries how long it will take Steve to find a new place after two months, Miranda reveals she feels like she cannot ask him.

Carrie then reveals she is having dinner with George that evening.

Roc is then seen working hard at her shoot, where they jump on a trampoline for the snaps. Due to his concerns over the shoot, Harry goes undercover with his wig from earlier in the show and probes an artistic director.

When he asks the director if anything 'dirty or sexy' will be on the screen, he is met with disgust: 'I don't know bro, but this is a family scene. There's kids here'.

Charlotte then spots her husband and says: 'Dude, you better get out of her right now before Roc sees you. If you don't get out of here before that kid sees you, you'll never be the cool dad again'.

Che looks on from behind a double sided mirror to see what the test audience are saying, with comments about their on-screen dad Tony Danza being made as well as concerns over the scene in which they tell their dad they are nonbinary.

When one member of the group was asked how she felt, she said: 'The whole Che character was like a walking boomer joke that felt so fake to me...

'Just some phoney, sanitised, performative, cheesy a*s, dad joke, bulls**t version of what the nonbinary experience is. It sucked.'

Che looked heartbroken as the whole group raised their hands before things shot to Miranda comforting them while they smoked a spliff at home: 'TV is just a corporate conglomorate and they can eat s**t'.

Attempting to cheer them up, Miranda vows to be 'a cheerleader' yet Che shouts: 'Miranda stop! I don't need a cheerleader. This isn't a game, this is my life, this is my career, this is my identity...

'It took me 46 years to work out my identity and a focus group one hour to f**king destroy me so I don't need to be all Tony Robbins right now.'

As George storms out, he leaves Paul on the bed, who starts talking to Carrie and apologising for the interruptions and admits they have had 'a few bumpy years' and spills his heart - while Carrie hilariously slips out while he talks.

She then calls out to George to reveal she is leaving, as he apologises for Paul's behaviour - Carrie explains that Paul is in fact 'George's wife'.
